What is SEO?

The letters SEO stand for Search Engine Optimisation, for which the literal translation into Spanish would be ”Optimización de Buscadores”… but in my opinion, the most accurate equivalent nomenclature is ”Posicionamiento en Buscadores”… although both are correct.. let’s continue.

SEO is comprised of different techniques used by an Internet Consultant to try and position its customers’ websites in the top positions of the different search engines, with special emphasis on Google.

One very important fact is that SEO positions websites in the organic list and in the natural list, which is usually the list that appears tot he left or in the centre of all search engines… and obviously this is the most prestigious list, since the positioning is based on own merits and not on advertising by SEM, Sponsored Links or Banners.

Below is a list of some of the SEO techniques used by Consulweb:

- Inclusion of the website to be positioned in the greatest number of Directories and Search Engines.

- Registration and participation in forums, preferably in theme forums related to the activity of the website in question.

- Publishing of relevant, high-quality, original contents in the different website pages.

- Monitoring of competitors of the website in question.

-  Creation of the famous Link Popularity, through quality links.

- Generation of internal links, considering the key words.

- Creation of realistic Meta-Tags for the purpose of climbing positions in the search engines results lists.

- Creation of Titles for each page of the website, in accordance with the most important key words to be positioned.

- Generation of friendly urls in all the website pages.

- And above all, monitoring (almost every day) to control that the positioned websites maintain their positioning and that the websites in question climb positions in the list of results or the organic list.
